Join the Fireweed Board!

We’re looking for people who are excited about contributing to a sustainable future of Fireweed Community Woodshop. Our board is made up of passionate people with a range of experiences, and we’re looking specifically for people who can support fundraising and marketing efforts (including grant prospecting and writing, partnerships, promotional events, connecting with individual donors, etc), and financial oversight folks for Fireweed Community Woodshop. People who are successful additions to the board are people with professional and personal experience who are excited to use their skills to support our values-driven nonprofit. A passion for woodworking, craft, and community is also a plus.

Never served on a board before? No problem!  Previous board experience is not required. We are committed to working with prospective and new board members to prepare for board service at Fireweed. 

Each December, Fireweed elects 4 board members (a mix of new and returning members) to join the 12 person Board of Directors. Board service is one specific way to support the mission, work, and future of Fireweed Community Woodshop. If you are curious about board service, we have an Info Packet and link to the Application available until November 15th(ish).

The board is intentionally designed to be less hierarchical and in fluid conversation with community through community participation on our committees. We highly encourage BIPOC and Trans community members to apply to best represent our participants and community.
