Come on up to camp on Fireweed instructor Dylan Linet's land project in northern Minnesota for a weekend of building a shed/tiny house! We will spend the morning on Saturday going over basic principles of how to think about framing, roofing, siding, etc and then spend the rest of Saturday and Sunday building a structure that could be used as a shed immediately, or converted later into a tiny house. The course will be held on 40 acres east of Sandstone Minnesota about 1hr 40mins from the twin cities metro. Free rustic camping (composting toilet/ outdoor solar/bag style shower) and three simple vegetarian meals a day are included with the class price. Things to bring: Your own tent and bedding, a water bottle, a warm sleeping bag, a change of clothes, and a notebook to take notes. Safety gear will be provided. The official class will be Saturay & Sunday from 9am-6pm however if class attendees wish to arrive early, they may arrive Friday evening anytime after 6pm. There will be an informal community potluck at 7:30pm and free camping that evening.
*** Please note this is an offsite Fireweed class. As mentioned in the description above, the only accommodations provided are for camping. Students are expected to bring their own camping materials (including a tent, sleeping bag, water bottle, a change of clothes etc) There will be a composting toilet and an outdoor shower. Three vegetarian meals will be provided during the class. Students are expected to bring any additional food/snacks they need. Transportation to and from the class is NOT provided but we will connect students who wish to carpool to the class site together.
