Learn how to hand cut dovetails in this introductory skills-building course! Dovetails are an incredibly strong form of joinery that have withstood the test of time. Handcut dovetails require a high level of precision and a healthy dose of patience. Through this class, students will learn how to lay out pins and tails, how to hand saw at an angle, and acquire a set of chiseling techniques that build accuracy and control. The goal of this class is for each student to successfully join two boards at a corner with handcut dovetails. Once you've successfully completed the joint, you'll be able to replicate it again and again. This is a skills-building workshop for students to learn how to use hand tools, so the focus is on practice rather than creating a take-home project.

The materials fee for this class is $10 and is included in the admission cost.

* We do require masking indoors, whatever your vaccination status *
